Purple Club

Medellín's LGBTQ+ Headquarters

Purple Club nightclub in Laureles, Medellín - interior view

Medellín is Colombia's gay capital. Purple Club is its parliament building.

Three distinct zones: the main Dance Hall blasting reggaeton and electropop, La Lupe Fonda for Colombian crossover, and La Terraza—the rooftop where you catch your breath between songs.

Drag shows rotate through the night. Go-go dancers do their thing. The crowd is mostly local with enough tourists to keep it interesting. Being in Laureles instead of Poblado gives it authentic Colombian energy without the gringo markup.

Friday and Saturday, 10 PM to 4 AM. Saturday is peak. Cover is minimal—expect 10-15k COP.

The city takes LGBTQ+ safety seriously. Hotels display signs with police fines for homophobic abuse. Stick to Poblado and Laureles, use normal precautions, you'll be fine.

Other options exist—Bar Chiquita for rainbow staircases and karaoke, Industry Club in Barrio Colombia for warehouse techno, Viva for massive Saturday crowds. But Purple is the complete package.

Come out. Dance. The scene is real.
