What Everything Actually Costs

Nobody tells you the real numbers before you go. Every "guide" is vague about money because specifics are awkward. This is everything we wish someone had told us—covers, drinks, VIP rooms, tips, the works. Your wallet will thank us later. Or curse us. Probably both.

Quick Reference: Tonight's Budget

Budget Night

$40–60

Cover, drinks, tips, Uber

Standard Night

$100–150

Baller Night

$250–500+

Bottles, VIP, the works

Strip Club Prices

Here's what nobody posts on their website. The actual numbers. The ranges exist because prices vary by night, by venue tier, and by how gringo you look. Thursday is cheaper than Saturday. La 33 is cheaper than Poblado. Looking like you've been here before? Priceless. Actually, it just means fewer upsells.

Lady drink40,000–80,000$10–20

The Lady Drink Game: When a dancer asks you to buy her a drink, the drink costs 2-3x normal price. She gets a cut, the house gets a cut, and you get her attention for about 15 minutes. It's the entry fee to conversation. You can say no, but she'll move on. This is how it works. Budget 2-3 lady drinks if you're planning to negotiate anything further.

Private Time

Where the real money goes

ServiceRange (COP)USD
Lap dance (1 song)50,000–100,000$12–25
Private dance (15 min)100,000–200,000$25–50

VIP room (1 hour)250,000–500,000$60–125
Salida fee (house cut)150,000–300,000$35–75

About Salideras: The "salida" is when you take a dancer out of the club. You pay the house their fee (above), then you negotiate directly with the girl for her time. What that costs depends on the girl, the duration, and your negotiation skills. This is separate from VIP room prices. Not all dancers do salideras. Always ask first.

Bottle Service

For the sparklers and the photo ops

ItemRange (COP)USD

The Sparkler Tax: Yes, the sparklers that come with your bottle are included. No, they don't make the whiskey taste better. They exist so everyone knows you ordered a bottle. It's marketing dressed as celebration. The photos are the real product.

Spa Prices

The daytime economy. These aren't regular spas—you know what they are, we know what they are, let's just talk numbers. The range is enormous because you're comparing a sketchy Centro walk-up to a literal mansion in the hills. You get what you pay for. Sometimes that's fine. Sometimes it isn't.

Budget Tier

Centro & no-frills spots

$20–40

New Life Casa: $20–25 for 30 minutes. The Honda Civic of spas.

What you get: Basic room, basic experience, maximum efficiency.

Trade-off: You're in Centro. The neighborhood is sketchy. The ambiance is... utilitarian.

Mid Tier

Poblado & Laureles

$50–80

Jade Palace: $50–60 standard, $90–100 extended. Poblado convenience.

Chicas Energy: ~$50 base. Near the stadium. Professional operation.

What you get: Private rooms, cleaner facilities, better selection.

Trade-off: Still feels transactional. You're paying for location and hygiene.

Premium Tier

The mansion experience

$85–150

Loutron: $85–110 for full packages. The Escobar mansion energy.

Secret Garden: Similar tier, different vibe.

What you get: Model-tier selection, mountain views, marble floors, discretion.

Trade-off: Your value rating suffers. But you knew that walking in.

Cash Rules Everything: Spas almost exclusively take cash. Some accept cards with a 10-20% surcharge, which defeats the purpose of discretion anyway. Withdraw pesos before you visit. Small bills work better. Tips are expected (20,000–50,000 COP appreciated).

3

Bars & Regular Clubs

Not everything on this site involves dancers. Sometimes you just want a drink, some music, and the possibility of meeting someone who isn't being paid to talk to you. Here's what the regular nightlife costs.

No cover. Beer is 9,000 COP. That's it. That's the whole business model. Best value in the city.

4

Getting Around

Uber is your best friend. Taxis exist but the app-based rides are safer, trackable, and you don't have to negotiate. The metro works for daytime but closes before the real nightlife starts. Here's what transportation costs.

RouteUber (COP)USD
Poblado → La 3315,000–25,000$4–6
Poblado → La 7012,000–20,000$3–5
Poblado → Centro12,000–18,000$3–5
Laureles → Poblado12,000–18,000$3–5
Airport → Poblado90,000–120,000$22–30
Within Poblado8,000–12,000$2–3

Surge Pricing Is Real: Friday and Saturday nights after midnight, expect Uber prices to double. The strip club areas (La 33 especially) get hammered with surge at 2-3 AM. If you're leaving at peak times, accept the surge or wait 20 minutes for it to drop. Don't try to hail a street taxi at 3 AM in La 33. Just don't.

5

Hidden Costs Nobody Warns You About

The cover and drinks are just the beginning. Here's where the rest of your money goes.

ATM Fees

$5–10 per withdrawal

Your bank charges you. The Colombian bank charges you. The exchange rate screws you. Budget $5-10 per withdrawal in hidden fees. Use ATMs inside banks, not street machines. Withdraw max amounts to minimize hits.

Credit Card Surcharges

10–20% markup

Many venues add 10-20% for card payments. Some spas charge 20%. Your bank adds foreign transaction fees on top. Cash is king for a reason.

The Tip Creep

50,000–100,000 COP/night

Bathroom attendant (2-5k). Doorman (5-10k). Waitress (10-20k). Security guy who watched your table (10k). The girl who sat with you for an hour (50k+). It adds up to 50-100k COP per night minimum.

The 3 AM Hunger

20,000–50,000 COP

You left the club. You're starving. The empanada cart is 5k. The late-night arepa spot is 15k. The 24-hour restaurant is 40k. You're spending 20-50k on food you won't remember ordering.

The Next Day Recovery

30,000–50,000 COP

Gatorade. Painkillers. Room service coffee. The Uber to get more cash because you spent it all. The hangover tax is real.

The "Just One More" Effect

+30% buffer

You budgeted for 3 drinks. You had 7. You said no VIP room, then someone convinced you. Your plan met reality at 1 AM and reality won. Budget 30% more than you think you'll need.
